“We are pleased to write this letter of commendation for J.R Roofing (Hitchin) Ltd. following the successful completion of a complicated roof reinstatement contract at Roedean School, Brighton, Sussex. The severe October storms caused considerable damage to the majority of the school’s roofs and we were appointed to project manage and supervise a two phase repair operation, namely emergency repairs followed by permanent reinstatement works. Following the receipt of a financially acceptable tender from them, J R Roofing Company executed the latter works during a period of intense activity within the roofing industry both as regards supply of materials and provision of labour. Flexibility was the key to a successful operation in that the extend of the damage did not manifest itself until stripping off works were under way and conformity with the Schools priority programme and activities was essential. J R Roofing successfully incorporated this flexibility into their works and their speed of operation was such that all the main roofs were repaired within 12 weeks allowing a slightly more relaxed programme for the non-priority areas. The result was a successful completion both from the quality and financial aspects to the satisfaction of the school.”
